Does ParentPay have an app?

No. There is no dedicated ParentPay app for parents to make payments or bookings. ParentPay is run through its website, and the site is built to work on a phone, so you use it in your normal mobile browser rather than downloading anything. You can add a shortcut to your home screen that opens ParentPay in one tap, which feels like an app even though it is not one.
That is ParentPay's own position, so if you see something in the App Store or Google Play simply called "ParentPay", it is worth a second look before you install it. Here is what is real, what to ignore, and how to get the closest thing to an app.
So is there a ParentPay app or not?
ParentPay's own help centre answers this directly: there is no native app for parents to pay or book through. Everything happens on the website, which adapts to a phone screen. You just go to parentpay.com in Safari, Chrome or whichever browser you use, and log in as normal.

How do I add ParentPay to my home screen?
This is the trick that gets you an app-like icon without an app:
- iPhone (Safari): open parentpay.com, log in, tap the Share button, then choose Add to Home Screen.
- Android (Chrome): open parentpay.com, log in, tap the three-dot menu, then choose Add to home screen or Install.

What about the apps I can see in the store?
A couple of things can confuse the search results. You may come across Cypad, which is a real ParentPay Group product, but it is the catering and kitchen-management app for school staff, not something parents use to pay. And there are unrelated third-party apps that happen to use similar names.
Because ParentPay itself says payments are made through the website, the safest rule is simple: do not enter your ParentPay login into any downloaded app. Use parentpay.com in your browser, and if you want an icon, add the home-screen tile described above.
Why is there no ParentPay app?
School payment systems are often run as websites rather than apps, and ParentPay is one of them. For you, the practical upshot is that there is nothing to download, nothing to update, and no difference between using it on an iPhone, an Android phone, a tablet or a laptop. You go to the same address, parentpay.com, and log in.
It also means you are never chasing the right app or worrying whether a download is the genuine one. The website is the genuine one. The only icon you need is the home-screen tile you can add yourself, which simply opens that website in a tap.
Is it safe to log in to ParentPay on my phone?
Using ParentPay on a phone browser is as safe as using it on a computer, as long as you are on the real site. A few sensible habits:
- Type or bookmark parentpay.com yourself rather than following a link from an unexpected email or text, and check the web address and the padlock before you log in.
- Keep your phone's browser up to date, and allow the necessary cookies, which ParentPay needs to keep you securely logged in.
- Never enter your ParentPay username and password into a downloaded app. ParentPay does not have a parent app, so anything claiming to be one is not official.
If a message about a payment looks off, it is always safe to ignore the link and go to parentpay.com directly, or check with the school.
Will I still get reminders without an app?
Since there is no app, ParentPay itself does not send push notifications to your phone. What you get instead are the school's own messages: most schools email a payment request when they add a new item, and some send a text as well, so a reminder usually reaches you even without an app.
The catch is that those reminders land in your inbox alongside everything else and are easy to lose. Without an app nudging you, it pays to have your own way of catching deadlines, whether that is a calendar, a note on the fridge, or forwarding the emails somewhere that will remind you before the due date.
Is the mobile website as good as an app?
For what ParentPay does, the mobile website covers it. You can pay for trips and clubs, top up your Parent Account and check balances, all from your phone browser, and the home-screen tile makes it a single tap away.
What a single school website cannot do is pull together everything else that lands from school.
